Christian life, Holiness

Revival without Holiness….

But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”

2 Timothy 2:19 ESV.

Recently the church of God in Nigeria has started witnessing a bit of revival in various places, towns, churches, dioceses, denominations, Campuses even amongst various individuals and this is actually a joyful improvement in the body of Christ because this is what the body of Christ in Nigeria has been crying for for decades and to his Glory we are seeing it.

The need for revival in the Church of God cannot be over emphasized especially at this time when the Church is facing a lot of Challenges, spiritual drought and famine and as a result a revival is greatly needed and welcome. Apart from these reasons, the Church herself is facing oppression from the Children of the bound woman and other adversaries and as God has promised that the Church in Africa especially the Church in Nigeria has the mandate of the end time world revival therefore revival is welcome and is still needed not only the Church but also in other areas such as the business sector, labor sector etc as God wants to move in these aspects too.

You Can’t bring back the Glory of God in the flesh and in carnality.

– Engr. S. I. Eze (Rt. Revd.)

Yet as we rejoice for the little bit of revival we are seeing yet it is important to know that in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. In our Churches today what we see are people who hold the truth in unrighteousness”, people who claim to be revivalists and revival agents both their lives are not revived. In our campuses today what we see are those who claim to be burning for God yet they fornicate, yet they commit examination malpractice, yet they perpetrate fraudulent activities, yet they dress indecently. We see Fellowship Pastors that are supposed to pastor the fold but rather they turn themselves into wolves who devour the fold on weekdays yet on Sunday you see them mounting the pulpit on Sundays preaching, binding and casting, releasing the power of the Holy Ghost… What a pity!.

A lot of so called revivalists are just like that barren fig tree that though barren yet they portray themselves as fruit bearing trees, they are  like Saul whose subjects see as a king who is hale and heartily but in the palace is already a mad man who needs music before he gets back to normal. Most of us are like the Laodecian Church we think we are hot but are freezing in unrighteousness and sin.

For this revival to be what God wants it to be, we must stop holding the truth in unrighteousness and cleanse, purge ourselves of and lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, because all God with mercy is saying in this year of revival is that “if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work”. SHALOM.
